Sensory Integration Therapy

Touch, movement, body awareness, sight, sound , smell , taste and the pull of gravity are sensory experiences. The brain function is called Sensory Integration, which helps organize and interprets this information. For later, more complex learning and behaviour, Sensory Integration (SI) provides a vital basis.

For most kids, in the course of ordinary childhood events, sensory integration grows. A normal outcome of this phase is motor planning capacity, as is the ability to respond to incoming stimuli. But sensory integration doesn’t grow as effectively as it does for some kids. A number of problems in learning , development and behaviour which become apparent when this process is disordered.
